League Broadcast plan examples
See how each plan applies to community events, in-house productions, freelancers, and agencies. Use the checklist at the end if your case is unclear.
Check in this order
Check from top to bottom. The first match is your minimum plan.
- 1
Will anyone rent, transfer, resell, sublicense or white-label account access, software access or entitlements?
EnterpriseYou need Enterprise or a separate agreement that permits it.
- 2
Are you paid to use League Broadcast for another organiser?
ProPro is required, including when League Broadcast is part of a larger production fee.
- 3
Does your own event have event-specific support, or is someone on your team paid for League Broadcast work?
BasicBasic is required.
- 4
None of these apply.
FreeFree may be used. Ordinary channel monetisation, organisation-wide support and paid work outside League Broadcast do not affect the plan.
Organisation size, audience size, production quality and the amount of money involved do not change the test.
Free
For your own event, without event-specific support or paid League Broadcast work.
- A club streams its own match on a Twitch Affiliate or Partner channel with ordinary ads enabled
- The monetisation applies to the channel generally.
- The channel receives its normal subscriptions, Bits or general donations during the stream
- Standing channel monetisation remains general even when the platform attributes it to a stream.
- The event VOD earns the channel’s ordinary platform revenue
- Monetised recordings are part of general channel monetisation.
- A club’s annual sponsor logo appears in its crest, jersey or standard stream layout
- Ordinary organisation-wide branding is allowed.
- A standing club sponsorship requires the normal sponsor lockup on every club stream
- It remains organisation-wide where no extra event placement, activation or reporting was arranged.
- The club receives membership fees, unrestricted donations or a general institutional grant
- The support belongs to the organisation as a whole.
- The club pays ordinary event costs or a prize from its unrestricted general budget
- Spending existing general resources does not itself create event-specific commercial support.
- A paid caster, moderator, camera operator, editor, social-media assistant or administrator does no League Broadcast work in the paid role
- Payment for work outside League Broadcast does not affect the plan.
- A paid editor edits the completed recording after the stream
- Post-production editing is outside League Broadcast work.
- A volunteer operates League Broadcast and receives only documented travel expenses or an ordinary meal
- Reasonable expenses and low-value hospitality are not production compensation.
- An unpaid outside volunteer helps the organiser operate League Broadcast
- There is no compensated client service. The event must still satisfy the other Free conditions.
Free stops applying if another fact in the same production triggers Basic, Pro or Enterprise.
Basic
For your own event with event-specific support or paid in-house League Broadcast work.
- A sponsor buys naming rights or a dedicated placement for the event or series
- Event-specific commercial support.
- A sponsor receives a segment, ad read, call to action, exclusivity or event report
- The commercial benefit was arranged for the identified event.
- The event sells tickets, entry fees, pay-per-view or other event-specific access
- Revenue is attached to the event.
- The organiser runs a donation drive, crowdfunding campaign or subscription goal for the event
- The solicitation was created for the production.
- The event receives a dedicated grant or in-kind contribution
- The support is earmarked for the event.
- An event-specific affiliate link, product promotion or platform bounty is activated
- The commercial activation belongs to the production.
- An event-specific fundraiser benefits a charity
- The purpose is charitable, but the fundraising activation is still tied to the production.
- A third party funds or supplies the prize pool in return for event exposure
- The support and benefit are event-specific.
- A university pays its own employee to operate League Broadcast for the university’s event
- Paid League Broadcast work on your own event requires Basic.
- A club pays one of its members or students to configure or run League Broadcast for the club’s event
- Paid internal work remains an organiser production.
- A university pays its own employee to design League Broadcast styles or automation for its event
- Paid in-house configuration, design and automation are League Broadcast work.
- Two organisations co-organise a sponsored event and no outside provider is paid for League Broadcast work
- Shared material organiser responsibility keeps it an organiser production.
Basic permits the organiser’s own event. An outside provider needs Pro for paid client production.
Pro
Pro covers paid production work for another organiser when it includes League Broadcast.
- A freelancer is hired specifically to operate League Broadcast for another organiser
- Compensated client production.
- An external specialist is paid to configure League Broadcast styles or automation for another organiser
- Paid configuration, design and automation are League Broadcast work.
- A producer receives one flat fee for the whole stream and operates League Broadcast as part of the package
- A separate invoice item is not required.
- An agency employee operates League Broadcast while the agency delivers a paid client broadcast
- The agency is supplying League Broadcast work to another organiser.
- A venue includes League Broadcast operation in a paid event-production package
- Compensated client production.
- The organiser owns the subscription but pays an external producer to control League Broadcast
- The controlling account must be Pro regardless of who pays for it.
- League Broadcast is described as “included” or a “free add-on” to a paid production package
- The provider is still paid for a package that includes League Broadcast.
- The client promises to reimburse the provider’s League Broadcast costs as part of the service
- Cost reimbursement is an economic benefit for the service. An organiser buying its own subscription is different.
- The provider receives an honorarium, revenue share, gift card, barter, retained equipment or other non-cash compensation
- Non-cash economic benefits also count.
- A Pro freelancer uses the same active account for successive client events
- Pro covers successive operated client productions.
- The event also has sponsors, tickets or other event support
- Paid League Broadcast work for another organiser requires Pro.
A freelancer does not need Pro for paid work outside League Broadcast, such as casting, photography, camera work or post-production editing. Basic may still apply for another reason.
Enterprise or a separate agreement
Enterprise covers access resale, client-operated access, concurrent client work and enterprise controls.
- A provider gives a client its League Broadcast credentials
- General account access is not part of the operated Pro service.
- A provider rents or transfers a configured account, subscription, entitlement or standalone software access
- Renting or transferring access is resale or sublicensing.
- A provider offers League Broadcast as a customer-operated or white-label platform
- Platform, OEM and white-label rights require an individual agreement that expressly grants them.
- An agency runs unrelated client productions concurrently
- Unrelated simultaneous client work requires Enterprise or a separate agreement.
- An organisation needs central users, SSO, audit, dedicated infrastructure or an SLA
- These are governance or service commitments.
If your case is unclear
Record these facts:
- who organises the event;
- whether any money, in-kind value or deliverable was arranged for this event or series;
- whether monetisation and sponsor branding already apply generally to the channel or organisation;
- who sets up, configures, designs, automates, operates or controls League Broadcast;
- what each paid person or provider is expected to deliver, including work bundled into a wider fee;
- which account controls the League Broadcast output;
- whether a client receives only the finished service and output, or also reusable product or account access; and
- whether unrelated client productions run concurrently.
